Hasegawa originally released the Business Jet series in 1/48 scale. Each one has been re-released one or two more times over the years before Revell Germany finally acquired the molds and tooling. I have built all of these great little kits from the original release to the latest.
In this case, I have built my third Cessna Citation 500; it is in fact the Revell Germany release as this one has the best, most colorful livery decal sets, IMO. However, it is the first one that I built with the boarding door mounted in the open position. Because of this I thought that the interior could be seen which caused me to spend extra time detailing the cabin. I added a galley, head, and flat screen TV for eye candy. To my chagrin, once the fuselage was closed up, I couldn’t see any of those details even with the boarding door wide open. Tough lesson learned there. Aside from that I am fairly pleased with the overall results. Please note that I used the Brazilian registration from the decal set as I thought it was the most attractive. Even though I don’t like the flying characteristics of the actual aircraft I will say this . That’s got to be the best looking one I’ve seen in a while . Good choice on the markings . Yes , It is a shame about the interior being hard to see .That’s why my Lear has a blah interior .
I have tried in the past to create a window that did not interfere with the plane’s lines . No real luck so far . I do wish they’d do a Civilian Dassault Falcon 20 or 30 for us . One question though . How much weight did you use to prevent tail sitting ?
Tanker-Builder: I too wish they would release a Falcon 20 or 30. However, Heller did make an old Falcon 20 but it’s in 1/50 scale and hard to find now. I’ve never been lucky enough to snag one. Ebbro from Japan just released a beautiful 1/48 HondaJet, which I am interested in building. Check it out. BTW, I epoxied 2 bullet fishing weights in the nose, each weighing 1.5oz. Might have overdone it but I wanted to ensure she would sit down on all 3 wheels. The shape of the bullet weights fit nicely in the nose section all the way forward.
I have gone to my local Hobby shop and checked out the Honda ! Darned nice aircraft and darned nice model ! . I am going to go to my storage to see if I still have the molds for a Coast Guard Falcon ( Based on the 20 . )If I find it I will let you know .
Back in the day before my allergy to resins of any kind kicked in I made three slush molded versions . Based on plans from when I worked for Falcon Jet / Little Rock Airmotive !
Yup , worked on the Falcon conversions for Fed-Ex too ! I am thinking , if I have the molds and buy a light duty Haz-Mat suit , I might be able to convert them to Vac-Form molds .
They are not that heavy or awkward to handle . They are 1/48 . The only way they might not be found is if they were destroyed some years back .

I am not that excited about the Honda kit. I think those high-mounted engines look a bit odd- don’t like the style. I’d probably get it if it wasn’t so pricey. I dealer, I believe they were called J-Bar used to have a bunch of business planes including turbo props. Don’t remember whose kits they were. Anyone know if any of those are still available? Like the King Air and Queen Air and Navaho.
Don, they are indeed pricey–well over $60.00 plus international shipping. I can’t find a US distributor yet. They all would be coming from Japan. I say wait a while and see if Squadron or Sprue Bros starts to carry them.
The ones you mentioned I’ve seen online from time to time, but they are all 1/72 scale. A-Models offers a plethera of business jets from the Beech Starship to a Falcon 30, but all in 1/72 scale.
An excellent example of a corporate jet. You’ve outdone yourself! I especially like the interior. I build WWII 1/32 aircraft and the detail in the cockpit is amazing until you cover it up with the fueselaage. lol!
This is absolutely WOW! such a superb job. I really love the interior work. So what if no one can see it…it looks almost like the real thing on the ramp, with the door open and a glimpse of the inside. Thank you for sharing. [*]
Question! Did you cut your own masks for cockpit windows? Also, does the kit include cockpit instrument panel decals, or are those separate? I just ordered this kit, I was curious to know! Thanks!
Just a bit of moral support here. You can still see the inside of the plane. just check out the tool Micro-Mark has for looking below decks on sailing Ship and train models. I have one similar from back in the day, For Autos. A friend working in Medical Tech modified it for model use for me!
I, too, would LOVE a Falcon 20. It was one of the aircraft the oil company my Dad flew for had. I might also have a few minutes at the controls. I’d make a copy of N147X in my Dad’s memory. [:)]
Before they got the 20, they had a 10, although I don’t remember getting any seat time in it. AModel makes a 1/72 scale 10, and I have one in my stash. One of these days…
