I know Testors makes the O-2 Skymaster pusher/puller aircraft. Does anyone else make one of these in 1/48?
How about an O-1 Bird Dog? Does anyone make one of these in 1/48?
I believe Testors is the only game in town for the Skymaster. I have the kit, its not the worst i’ve seen. For the Bird Dog, Model USA is the only one I know of. There is a good resin interior available for it, and its not all that bad [a little flash issue]. Builds up to a good representation. Both kits and the detail sets are available through squadron and not too pricey. I think both are under $20.
The O-2 kit was originally made by Hawk. No other company got around to making a O-2 except Testors who used the Hawk molds.
There is a 1/48th O-1 kit but I can’t remember who it was. A couple a detail sets have been made for it, one by Eduard and I think another company did one in resin.
You should be able to find it by asking on the various forums or trying Ebay.
If the O-2 is an old Hawk kit, then there is good chnce Lindberg will re-issue it they seem to be re-issuing a lot of old Lindberg and Hawk kits lately. I do wish they would put them in the old Hawk boxes though, my first model airplane kits were Hawk kits.
Thanks guys. The Testors Skymaster kit is actually pretty common. I already picked up one of those cheap. I remember building this kit as a kid, so this will be a nostalgia build for me.
Now I just need to find the Hobby USA O-1 kit. Anybody have a link to one?

It’s not a Cessna but if you are looking for another observation airplane Minicraft makes a 1/48 scale Piper Super Cub PA 18. I think the military designation was L-18 or L-21.
