1/48 Bronco MQ-1 Predator

This is a 1/48 Bronco MQ-1 Predator that I completed for the Modern GB. I enjoyed this build very much, nice and quick. I used all MM enamel paints. The base was a PITA. I used 320 grit sandpaper, however, it was not water sandpaper, so the edges curled up and turned into a huge mess. I finally used 400 grit water sandpaper and it laid down nicely on the wood base. Just a few air bubbles. I also forgot ballast in the front, so I ended up gluing the aircraft to the base.

Anyway here are the pictures:

I hope you enjoyed, comments and critiques are welcome!

Sweet!!!

A very nice build on a unique subject!

Tempest, Toshi,

Thank you for the great comments!

Nice display, Bruce. Let’s call it a tribute to the overworked and underpaid people that man them.

Thanks, John!

Nice to see this done, really great finish.

Nice build!

Thanks, Bish and Salty!

No mud? No oil stains? Really, a nice job. It’s elegance in simplicity.

Thanks, Templar!

From the pictures I have found on the internet, these drones are relatively clean. The one thing I did notice was the rust from the brake rotors stained the inside of the rears wheels and rims. You can’t see it in these pictures, but I did try to portray that on this build.

Thats a handy bit of info. I am thinking about getting the 72nd Reaper and doing it for the RAF GB, so will keep that in mind.

Bish,

This is the picture I’m basing from:

It is subtle.
