It’s pretty old and I have no idea of availability, but if I recall correctly, Tamiya had a stretcher team with their Land Rover ambulance kit. These were modern (1970’s) British figs.
Hmmm - it’s available separately without the Land Rover. Kit #35106
Medic_01,
Yes, as Phil_H noted, Tamiya’s British stretcher bearer team is out there–available occasionally at online hobby stores and more often of course on eBay! It was produced with Tamiya’s British Ambulance Rover 7 (kit #35082) and also separately. The kit is fairly good (Tamiya 1980’s quality–figures’ faces are a little chunky, poses are a little stiff, and they demonstrate TERRIBLE lifting/carrying technique with bent backs), but with some modifications can be made into a decent stretcher team. I converted mine to American Medic, Amublance driver and Surgeon in WWII, unloading a casualty from a Dodge WC-54 Ambulance (Italeri kit)–I’m planning a Battalion Aid Station diorama, but have taken a little rest from that right now. Here’s some pics:
Heller also made a 1/35 scale Multi-pose French stretcher bearer kit (#134) years ago, that you can usually find on eBay. I’ve been told the uniforms are Korean War era, but as with anything in modeling, that can be changed with some putty or other tricks! Here’s one now that is in my opinion way over-priced (but I’m a builder, not a collector! [:D]): http://cgi.ebay.com/Heller-1%2F35-Rare-Multipose-French-Stretcher-Bearer-unit_W0QQitemZ360085391775QQcmdZViewItem.
Anywho, hope this helps!
Murphy’s Laws of Combat #8: “A sucking chest-wound is Nature’s way of telling you to slow down…”
great work with the medics and the ambo.
looks awesome.
thanks for all the help so far guys. what i’m trying to achieve is something like the pics below. a 4 person stretcher lift loading into a chopper.
CMK resin company out of the Czech Republic has a few sets of modern stretcher bearers.
F35195 US Marines in Iraq About $25.
F35196 US Marines in Iraq (Same name for some reason) About $40.
Good luck.
Thanks for the compliment!
Honestly, with some basic figure modifications you can have the figures in any pose you want! I think a combination of Tamiya’s British Stretcher bearers and some other figures, such as Tamiya’s Modern US Army Infantry set (#351533) or a DML/Dragon or Trumpeter Modern military figure set, you could fairly easily pose a 4-person lift into a helo.
Cool dio idea, by the way! [tup][tup] For the helo, are you going to use a Huey or a Blackhawk?? Keep us posted and let us know how it’s goin! I’m looking forward to seeing your work! [:)]
