1-35 railguns

Okay, I’ve read reviews on the two Leopold kits from Dragon and Trumpeter. Can any one tell me which one is actually better? The reviews say that the trumpeter kit has more parts but how does it fit? How does the Dragon kit go together? Thanks for any replies.[:-^]

I am dry fitting my Trumpeter kit, so far it has been ok.
The fit is ok, there are allways a couple of snags with these big kits, and I have sanded alot and used some putty. The detail is great, but it is a difficult kit to build because of the many parts.

Hope this helps !!

Thanks for the input monrad[^][^]

Can anybody advise on the fit on the Dragon gun? Is it a nice clean fit or do you have a lot of work ahead of you?

That sanding on the Trumpeter gun – does it remove lots of the detail that is supposedly the big selling point of the Trumpeter version?

No it doesn’t remove alot of the detail. Some of the parts in the Trumpeter kit has alot of ejector pin marks, that is really the only bad thing so far, and it is these marks I have had to fill with putty and sand.

The snags are in the fit. Not because its a bad kit but because it is so big. Small misalignments here and there. Nothing too serious.

I went ahead and ordered a Trumpeter kit. I’ll just put up with any fit problems I run across. Mainly because I don’t like the plastic that Dragon uses, it seem to hard to work with. Thanks again monrad[:D]

I bought the Dragon kit some months ago but have not started on it yet. I read the FSM review and it gave both kits high marks , even though The Trumpeteer kit has more parts. I havent seen ejector marks on any parts yet, but I haven’t looked at all the trees yet either.
Good luck on your build!

Dan

Boybuddho is right. Read the review from FSM and it will cover the few problems with the Dragon kit. Also, the ejector pin marks on the wheels are horrible. What I did was use a pencil trimmed flush at one end with a small piece of sand paper glued to it to remove the marks. Take a look at it and you’ll see. Other then that, I thought the kit was really good and figures are awesome.

Which kit are you referring to when you say the ejector pin marks on the wheels are horrible? Trumpeter or Dragon?

Larry,

Sorry about that. It’s the Dragon kit. I spent a lot time working on those things. Dragon should of done better.
