high guys, thought id post a pic of this landrover 110 as you guys helped on the subject. Excuse the poor pic quality, crappy cam. Just cant get a good pic out of it, apologies…Again opinons appreciated. Im i doing something wrong?
What are the MGs? MAG 58? What color you painted the butt ? Sorry, but looks like you painted them pink by the looks of the pics. The build looks awesome, but I bit too pink [:P] Can you explain a bit more on it?
hi guntech, the model is abit on the pink side, but the pic makes it look a lot worse than it actually is. The machine guns are G.P.M.G, or do you mean the gun at the side of the jeep?? i didnt paint that pink, the butt of it i should say, but its brown. I was in doubt about this model from the start cos i have a SAS docu which it shows you the pinky, so i just took it from there more than the instructions.
thankx for ur input
I think you need to fade the pink a bit, the color is a little too saturated. Take a look and see what you think;
From what I see, both GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) looks alright.
The butt assy. is supposed to be light wood color. (I got a lot of spares in my bins like that) It looks a bit pink because of your pics.Looks really great in overall! Were did you had the idea for it?
nice build. like the others said, a little on the bright pink side. And it’s actually a series 2 or 3, not a 110. And you need to pack heaps of gear on it! Other than that, nice build!
Believe it or not the pic you posted is one i had for reference, but as i said i have a SAS documentry were they show you the pinky. From its to 2x50gallon tanks, compass and grenade holder. This kit didnt have much gear to go with it which is a shame, as the guy said the pinky is prone to exploding under enemy fire as it has too much gear on it.
i agree with you all, it is abit pink (not enough buff in the paint mix). Any ideas how i can get rid of its pink finish??
thank you all for the feedback…
gordon
wasn’t the pink really primer mixed with red? couldn’t you just mix light grey and flat red together for this?
A light, misting overspray of a light buff or tan should help tone it down a bit. Be sure to thin the paint out considerably and spray just a little at a time. You should be able to gradually blend it to a more subtle shade of pink.
Hi curtis, well lol probaly should have. But i stuck with the tamiya instructions, mixing white, red and buff, just didnt put enough buff in i guess. Which is a shame cos i was going to give this kit to a mate but as you have all said, its too pink and i notice it more now u all mentioned it LOL
Ill try giving it a light coat of buff. Ive never done this before so ill try spraying underneath it first.
thanks again guys
