1/35 M992A2 FAASV Kit

Does anybody know if there is a kit available for a M99A2 FAASV in 1/35th scale? I have only found a 1/87th scale kit from Roco. I am building several M109A6 Paladin’s and a couple of these would just help round everything out nicely.

I am not familiar with that nominclatior. But, if you you talking about the ammo supply vehical , I beleive Italeri has released a kit of that along with their Paladin kit. I just saw something about that the other day, and I’ll be d@#$ed if I can remember where. If I can find it again I will get back to you here.

I’m fairly sure there is no kit of the FAASV, and not by Italeri. Hobby Fan may make a conversion for the Italeri or Revell of Germany Paladin, but I’m not sure. I also don’t think it would be outside the abilities of an experienced modeler to scratch build the outer hull and make one of the various M109 kits to “look” like a FAASV to the casual observer. Be tough to fool a gun bunnie though.

Closest thing is the AFV Club M548.

Major G,

I was wondering if there was a kit of the 548 out. I just got to drive one for the first time this weekend… LOTS of fun! This particular vehicle was with How Batt, 2/2 ACR in Desert Storm. Its now owned by the Texas Air Museum and used as a heavy hauler/ vehicle recovery platform (we tend to have people get their RVs stuck in ditches at our airshows). I thought about converting a 113 kit and scratchbuilding the superstructure, but since there is a kit already, fantastic!

Thanks again!

The M548 is / was manufactured by AFV Club, kit #35003. But the supplier I deal with shows it as OOP.

would love to have the dimensions of the upper hull for the fassv…i also have a lot of m-109s to do and would convert one for that purpose also need door sizes and some rear potos of back hatches…only way to get is scratch it…thanks Ray

there is a faasv kit out there, I’ve seen a few in the shops here where I’m stationed but they disappear fast!!!
I’ve been trying to get my paws on some as well.

548’s are fun to drive, I had fun at FT Drum the last time I drove one , those sand dunes there make it interesting.

but as far as the faasv/cat I’ll let you know what I find out the next time I hit the Marktplatz.

Do you remember the manufacturer’s name by chance?

As for the 548’s I’ve seen them in several stores and recently on e-bay.

I’ll try to find out some how, I’ll start today but most german owners close on sundays and during the week have really bad hours , they usually close by the time we get released for the day. that’s why it’s so hard to get to the shops to get what I need to find, cept for saturday.
let me put my sprechening (sprek-en-ning) skills to the test and see what I can find?

Probably because it died on the shelves. The kit has a retail price of just under $40. It is a very nice kit though. The bottom edge of the canvas conver is poorly done.
Ebay is the best place to buy this kit too.
