1/35 ICM CH-54A Tarhe

I think ICM missed the boat with this, it’s way too big, 1/48 would have been way better. I did this 2023, a huge build and a huge model.

Ees a beeg socker, yes!! You have a very nice model there!!

I have that one in my stash, as well as pretty much every AM kit ResKit makes for the thing. I got the folded rotor kit for it from ResKit just to save some space.

Beautiful build. You’ve got some mad painting skills my friend.

Fantastic build! It’s not an aircraft I’ve paid all that much attention to before, so the detail is very enlightening! Am I correct in guessing this lower access point and compartment is just for the winch operator?

Yes, it is for the winch operator. He can fly the helo from there and work the winches.

Man this is frickin’ crazy. I didn’t even know a 1/35 scale kit existed for this bird and I can only imagine how much room this model took up once you had it all completed. This is very well built @Grant_Dalzell

I did find a picture for scale refererence:

I know that it’s a huge kit but you did an awesome job on yours! Transporting it and displaying it must present some challenges for you.

Thanks mate, gets a bit hard to handle when it’s together. Very awkward

I didn’t glue the rotor blades in, so I could pull them out. Still takes up heaps of room though. I sold mine so I don’t have to worry about finding a place to store it.

Yeah it’s crazy huge, very awkward to handle.

That is huge. Could a 1:35 scale tank fit under it? That would be an amazing diorama…

A small one, like an M114 Recon Vehicle.

Or an M551 Sheridan.

Even a PBR.

Or lots of other various crap.

I love the house. Must be in Kansas. Lol

A PBR, you say?

Edit: Forgot to add before posting, but great model and yeah…that thing is huge! I’d almost want to mount it upside down on the ceiling and use it as a fan!
