…and after reviewing the feedback, there’s no comments that reference the purchase of a 1/35 Chinook. Is this for a pre-order? Free Shipping? A package that big from France to the United States would command at least half of the indicated purchase price, just in shipping cost… or so it seems? Either way, good luck to you both… be sure to post a message when you get it. [:)]
I just got an email this morning from Kit Discount. Philippe, the owner, thanked me very much for purchasing it and told me it would ship Tuesday and should take about 10 days to get here to CA. Also said to let him know when I get it and if it takes longer. Sounds pretty good to me. We’ll see how it goes.
Looks like they raised the price to $119 too. Better get them while they are hot (and cheap)!!
I would just do a general search on ebay for a 1/35 Chinook ( If he has one on )
HOT DOG!!! I recieved a letter from Philippe today as well…He said its going out Monday via AIR MAIL!!! …Now I don’t know about 10 days…I have recieved packages from China and Japan in 5 to 7 days, now I’m wondering if it takes longer from just across the pond?..or If he has decided to go standard freight for newer buyers?..you gotta admit that free shipping is kinda crazy…I mean thats almost half of the kits cost at 119.00 USD???
That’s what raised the red flags for me, the free shipping.
Maybe he has some kind of connections, or is coming at this whole thing from an angle I’m not seeing, but back a couple years ago when I sent one of my framed prints (2" X 19" X 26") to a customer in Moscow, the shipping charges was $98.
I hope my red flags have been raised in error, for certainly this would be the deal of a lifetime.
Especially for those folks who do not live near a good Hobby shop or who’s local store may charge the full suggested retail price of 149.00! …but I doupt this guy will do this very long…The euro is almost the same as the USD and he can’t be getting much of a return on all this? I thought for sure the shipping would be a small tug or a raft…hehehehe
maybe the free shipping is that he ships them with french tourists coming here and they hide it in their suitcases he gives them a free croisant for their trouble and 10 bucks US with a card they show at the airport that says point me to the nearest ups store[(-D]
