[%-)]Anybody have any suggestions on 1/35 heli kits suitable for a beginner modeller.
Any of the Dragon/DML Little Bird, OH-6 or Hughes 500 kits is are good start. They’re quick builds, the paint scheme is real easy (all black in the case of the LB, OD in the case of the OH-6A) and there are only a few minor fit problems.
The Academy 1/35 UH-1Cs are good as well. They go together pretty easily and have everything in the kit that you need to make a great looking helo.
I’ll second both of those suggestions and add my own. The MRC OH-58D is a GREAT kit! Good detail, good fit and builds up into a really nice model of an early Kiowa Warrior. If you want to bring it up to current standard, minor modification is needed, but even that’s pretty simple. Overall a really good build!
Does anyone know if any of the 1/35 scale companies are contemplating the manufacture of a Sikorsky HH-53C,MH-53 Pave Low or any other mod of the H-53 series helos?
None that I have heard of. There was a resin company that had all sorts of hype about it, Night Flight Models (Fly -by-Night, Hmm…), but they have gone the way of the dodo bird. They never got past some gee wiz GC drawings. Personally think they were all smoke and mirrors from the start.
Hi William!! The company Trumpeter is working on a CH-47A Chinook in 1/35 thats dew out this fall !!![:D] It’s gonna be a great kit and I along with many other of these guys have been watching this one for a while now and I cant wait to see it release!!!
I would love to see someone bring out a nice 1/35 kit of a Pave Low/Super Stallion/Super Jolly!!! Any one of them would be awsome and all three would be fantastic!!![;)]
