1/32nd Academy F-16CG/CJ

Folks,

I picked up this kit today from Hobby Lobby for only $36.00!!! That’s $74 less than the retail price of $99.99. I’ve been reading on these forums about others getting this kit dirt cheap, and I had always wanted this kit, and I guess today was my lucky day. My local Hobby Lobby has had four of these kits on the shelves for over a year now, with none of them moving at all. I guess they were getting tired of dusting them.

What’s the scoop on this kit? Pretty decent fit? I like what I see so far. The parts look well-engineered, and there seems to be plenty of ordnance. The clear parts are separately packaged, including a clear canopy and a gold-tinted canopy. The decal sheet is just superb. Unfortunately, it will be sitting in the stash for a bit until I can get some of my other builds finished.

Dawg,

It’s not a bad kit it does have its issues as its neither a true 40/42 or 50/52. I have two and am fixing a few of the issues. There is a list of its issues at F-16.net in the modeling section. I think there might be a link to on here in one of the older posts. it But it does look like an F-16 when it’s done and it has a ton of ordnance and you don’t have to rescribe it like with Hasegawa or shell out the big bucks for the Tamiyas. As far as fix it’s pretty good just make sure you test fit as some parts need a little sanding before glue.

Thanks for the info, Viper0177. I’ll definitely check out the F16.net website.
