I am working on a series of 1/32 scale aircraft and I’m looking for some decent seated pilot figures to fly them. I’ve looked in the usual web places and I’ve found some separate sale standing figures but not too much in the way of pilots doing their job in the cockpit. I’m looking for WWII American, German, British and Japanese. Anyone have any suggestions in regards to current kits that have nice pilot figures?
If anyone out there has a Tamiya Spitfire or Zero in 1/32 and would like to sell the pilot figures I would be happy to buy them from you or any other quality pilot figs from Hasegawa, etc…
I’ve got some Revell seated pilots that I’d part with as well… Two from the Lysander, one from the P-47, one from the P-51B, and one of the “typical” Revell pilots from the F4U… All would need some conversion, but the Lizzie crew is pretty nice and wouldn’t require much more than a head turn…
It’d help in the search if we knew where on the planet you were located as well… Might wanna add that info to your profile…
I’m working on the old revell kits (nostalgia thing) and I have the revell pilots. I’ve never seen the Lysander figs. I’m in the Philadelphia, Pa area. I’ll add it to my profile.
The masterclass figs look pretty good. I’ll probably pick them up.
Just wanted to bring this back to the top in case there is someone out there with some 1/32 pilots they would be willing to part with. I purchased the Master Details figures and they are very nice. I still need a good Japanese seated pilot (Tamiya anyone?) and a British pilot.
The classic Revell front-and-back-halves seated pilot produces nostalgia, but even I’d hesitate before using it, except for an aircraft in the ETO, or maybe as a Japanese pilot, all bundled up. Remeber how they scaled the figure down to 1/48, still in front and back halves, for the 1/48 Doolittle Raider? And just like Monogram’s early pilot, he crewed planes of all nations. Still, he paints up nicely.
Ultracast has some standing figures, if you’re interested in bashing your own seated pilot:
I remember seeing someone put out a seated USMC or USN pilot, circa 1936, and it was billed as an excellent accompanyment for the old Hasegawa 1/32 yellow wings biplane kits (eg, the F4B-4 and the BFC), but I can’t remember who made them. I thought it was Ultracast, but I don’t see the figures at their site. If I can find them again, I’ll post them back here.
Hey there. I’ve got these 3, 1/32 pilots from my 21st Cent. Toys’ Stuka and '109. If you want 'em, they’re yours, f.o.c… Hit me back if you’re interested.
If you need another German, I got one you can have. It comes with the Pro-Modeler BF-109G (hasegawa molds I think???), six pieces, legs, front torsoe, back and seat are parachute, 2 arms, and head. PM your addy if you want him.
I have a Revell pilot from a 1:32 Wildcat…youre welcome to him...once I find him..lol. If youre interested, PM me your address…I`m an old Philly guy myself!
Thanks Troublemaker - I’m actually building all of the old 1/32 Revell kits and I have a couple of the wildcats and a cosair or two. I’m attempting to upgrade the pilot figures to something a bit more realistic. Much appreciated though.
I’m really hoping that someone who has a Tamiya 1/32 Zero whose not into figures reads this.
Sorry to hi-jack this thread, buT I am also looking for 1/32 scale seated figures, but this time for USAF and RAF 1950s jet fighters, such as the F-86F Sabre and Hawker Hunter. I can’t beieve so many manufacturers are issuing kits without pilots and the model is so lifeless without them. Any suitable USAF or RAF 1950s-60s seated pilost would be very welcome.
Thanks - I had a look at that site and can’t see a single SEATED jet fighter pilot, as they are all standing. I reckon manufactuers are scared to make them seated, in case they don’t fit the seat of the plane you’re building! I guess the only answer is to find one from another kit, where someone doesn’t need him?
