Usually I fiddle around with 1:144 scale aircraft and aircraft wise, reserve 1:72 and 1:48 scales for specific projects, but after many years of admiring 1:32 scale aircraft models, I bought Revell’s Bf109G-6 at a very reasonable price and decided to give it a try! The only aftermarket I’ve used is Eduard’s MG151 underwing cannon pods, in order to depict the aircraft I chose to model.
So far, it has been a nice experience. It is now close to its completion, but I still need to add an antenna and further weather the aircraft belly.
Here’s its present state:
I hope you like it and I should share some photos of the completed model soon!
EDIT: Oops! My goof thought Eugene was the initial poster.
PS - they both look great - I wondered what prompted the do over
PSS Eugene - I’m a big fan of Grill top photography too [:)]
That is one mean looking fighter. I see you made quite the course correction, I like it. Very brave move on the nose cone spiral. I try to avoid that type of detail, so hard to pull off but you did it. How many tries did it take to nail it? [:)]
Hi macropreto, beautiful job on an all-time classic! I love the camo, and the exhaust and gunsmoke stains. And the panel line post shading is spot on. I’m a huge fan of weathering, so I’m looking forward to seeing how you do the rest.
As fas as I’m aware, the kit I’m using is not the classic Revell’s Gustav! I think it is a new mold, dating from 2013. I don’t know how it compares with the classic one (which dates from 1969, if I remeber correcty).
