1/32 Phantom WIP

I’ve always wanted to do Tamiya’s big F-4 and found a C/D kit at the regionals for a rediculously low price. Jef from Avionics was there , so I purchased a cockpit as well. This is a resin masterpiece and was a lot of fun to detail. I’m going to build an F-4D loran equipped aircraft from Twenthe AB 1976 in SEA camo.

Other progress so far is removing the patches all over the fuselage.

Cheers…Jerry

Great work so far Jerry, especially the seats. They look real.

Regards, Rick

Thanks Rick…but darned if they don’t look like Navy seats. Wooooops!!

Jerry

WOW Jerry! Really beautiful work. I was wondering where you had been… now I know. You’ve been busy.

That is very good looking work. I must ask. Did you paint those seats? They look real to me! I’ve never worked w/ aftermarket parts, so I don’t know what state they are in when they are purchased.

Eddie

Thanks Marc and Eddie…yes after adding some small bits I then painted the entire CP as well as the seats.

here’s a few more

Gorgeous work! I thought the bdr patches were just on the tail, I’ll have to save your pictures.

Looking great so far.

Mark

Jerry, I’m willing to bet money that if you could shrink me to 1/32 scale, the buttons in the cockpit actually function…

Truely incredible work. I will enjoy watchingthe one get built.

A truly outstanding job on the cockpit! [tup]

Scott

As a “phormer phantom phixer” I have to say OUTSTANDING! Your cockpit looks to be right on including the warning lights on the front panel. Definantly can’t wait to see the finished product!

I agree, it’s great work. There’s one in my stash that was won at a show with $2 worth of raffle tickets. How is the Avionix set? I was thinking I’d build mine OOTB, but I am considering aftermarket stuff.

Semper Fi,

Chris

For the love of Rosie O’Donnell!!

Jerry…man…I’m…well…speechless…

Awesome work my friend!

This is fantastic work! I wish I could create the same detail in 48 scale. Got a few phantoms in my stash and this could be great reference stuff. Maybe more photos of the rear cockpit?

As far as modern jets go, the F4 is my all-time favorite. Your work on the cockpit is outstanding!

Russ

holly cow drangfly that work is excellent. I need to pick up some pointers from you! That cockpit looks like the real deal. I like how you even got the seat pad seams a different color.

So your in north east Ohio, So am I, when are you giving classes[:)]

Thanks again for all the kind words guys!!

The detail on the resin makes it easy to get decent results. My thanks to Jef at VMD. Here’s one of the side panels.

Cheers…Jerry

Awsome Jerry! Simply awsome. You are for sure a master of the seats![bow] Now, what inquiring minds want to know…How did you paint/decal/whatever the stripes on the ejection handles?[;)]

Thanks Drew. The face curtain handles were done with some carefull painting using a fine tipped brush.

phoenix…check this site http://www.ipmsusafc.org/ you are personally invited to attend one of our meetings. There are some great guys and great builders in our membership. Hope you can make it.

Jerry

Jerry, would you please,…for those of us that are so unworthy to stir your paint Sir…elaborate on how you did such an awesome job on the artificial horizon instrument? That is one of the hardest instruments to paint, and on yours, it looks flawless…
