Excellent Build [#toast]. I really like the looks of the Dora. I have 2 in the stash (I love squadron sales). Now I have a very high bar to try reach. You should be very proud of your effort. Looks like she is ready for her job of protecting the 262s on their way to the bomber streams. [tup][tup]
Stan, my friend, i already complimented you in the GB but a build of this caliber deserves the extra accolade. Top marks on the best 190D ive seen modelled. [bow]
…Guy
Stan-
WHat can I say that hasn’t already been said? This Dora is top shelf, and I would love to see your work in person. The subtle shading in the camo is spectacular! Thank you as well for all of the info your shared in your post, I love reading that stuff! Not very familiar with the D-11, great to see those seldom-done variants. Thanks for sharing it Stan, kudos my friend! [bow]
Thanks a ton everybody, got to try to keep up with lufty and daywalker and all the great looking luftwaffe stuff you 2 have been poping out as of late. Rick good to hear from you and thanks.
I went to dayton but had a problem. Due to the the weight of this thing the landing gears will not stay alinged, this was also partly due to the bumpy ride of th way down. The right gear went pretty far out. Far enough that the plane actually sat funny, so she did not place. But I was aware this might happen and bought a back up. I ended up entering in 4 catagories and placing in three. First in 1/32 single prop aircraft. Third in 1/48 single prop axis aircraft, and third in sci-fi of all things. Not too bad, wish I had done better in 1/48 scale, but the there were alot of great entries in 1/48 axis prop. I also made a stop at the old airforce museum, I got some pics of a few new aircraft that have I’ll post later.
Stan- Bummer about the gear issue! If that hadn’t happened, I would have put $$ on your Dora placing well! WHich aircraft won you the awards?
Oh and BTW, no teeth pulled but I do have the pleasure of seeing my dentist this afternoon for a filling! [sigh]

wow, at 1/32, thats a show stopper ! the LHS has some 1/32 models on display, its a great scale.
The D-11 got ALOT of attention at the show. Talked al legnth to several people about it and many more about fw190’s in general. I realized it was too heavy after it sat a day and the gears were already splaying apart. Fw190 landing gears are touchy to begin with, over load them and you got real problems. I spoke to 2 of the judges and was told that was the reason. I have metal gears on there way so the next show should be it.
As far what placed
Cylon raider placed 3rd in sci fi
the bf109K-4 placed 3rd in 1/48 axis single prop.
and finally “the snake” as it now bing called placed first in 1/32 prop. Fw190A-8/R6
Congrats on the placings, Stan!
Man, that Cylon Raider brings back some memories…
