Hey all, I’m looking for help on building this Revell model. Any help on getting decals, like Pappy Boyington’s in 32nd scale?
Also, just curious, have any of you uilt this model? Any help would be great. Thanks, Kle
Eagle Strike makes a sheet that includes Boyington. Squadron carries that line. I suppose other on-line catalogues do also. I built one years ago. It is pretty plain. The cockpit needs work. I bought a Verlinden cockpit from Squadron to go into the next one I build. Every one here is excited about the Trumpeter kit that is about to hit the market.
I have tried to build this and the fit of the fuselage for a start is a nightmare. Mine is back in the box and I have just ordered the Trumpeter version. I hate this kit!

FSM had an article on the Revell 1/32 F4U-1A a few years back (I’ve forgotten the exact issue that it was in), and the person who built it added just about every aftermarket kit he could find in it. He made it look so good that it was impossible to tell that it was the Revell kit. So, just because someone else thinks it’s no good, don’t let that keep you from giving it a try. I’ve built kits that I eventually threw in the trash because of extremely poor fit quality, but others thought were great-fitting kits. So, give it a try and see what you can do with it.
