Wow! Great job so far. I’m impressed.
WIP…
paintwork on the GE414 complete…not going to be seen after [:S]
lower half complete
did some modification on the elevator (instead of just gluing it fixed)
This is great looking, how is the fit so far?
Those GE414’s look like something out of a steampunk series- do they burn coal?
The AM stuff you’re putting in really does look better than Trumpy’s effort.
(not a slam on your work, but rather the odd shape of the parts)
Thank you gents, @DRE too small to burn coal…more build
the 18G is one big beast and I’m running out of room for my 32nd…so making the wing fold is a plus[:P]
by drilling the middle and inserting a brass wire will turn this plastic into a working hinge
enjoy…
@Dean …fit on the trumpy kit was a pain like always(recycled mold) not for beginners …a lot of bondo was needed to keep the gap to a minimum [;)]
Looking very nice! I might just have to get this kit for myself.
Ah thanks, this is one aircraft I really like a lot, any time I see someone start to drill parts for modifications it’s usually a tip off that the builder is great and the model will turn out seriously well, I have not looked forward to seeing a completed build this much in a while. I’m staying tuned!
Bimski, that intake dipping tip, do you try to fill the seam at all, or does the dipping do it for you? Sounds absolutely brilliant! Thanks and this is a gorgeous build!
Groot
@Robgroot4 …the latex paint does all the filling(make sure to clean/wash the intake free from dust/oil)…both side will be coated or you can wipe the outside prior to drying…its a messy procedure but works well
Gorgeous work, man. Those growlers are really one of my favorite-looking jets.
update…almost at the finishing stage just needed to add some growler look on the build [;)]
a lot of details are missing on this trumpe kit [:@]
good thing eduard came-up with some nice PE parts
salvaged parts from other kit
landing gear was updated by chopping up an AIM-120
enjoy…
Great work on this so far. I had never heard of the Growler until a couple of days ago when someone explained to me what it was.
Looks fantastic, are you planning to build any more 1/32 jets, such as the F-14?
Thanks gents…
@Dean30 its next on my list ,still debating between tamiya kit and trumpe [;)]
THE FINISH WORK…
I like it,very impressive
Looks really fantastic, well Dre is sort of still building the Trumpeter kit and I used to have it and I can say without question that it is a great kit though I sold mine the Trumpeter kit comes with many more options than the Tamiya and the Tamiya has raised lines and costs more despite being much much older. I have no idea how it goes together but the kit has had nothing but fantastic reviews the Trumpeter that is.
Thanks for tip Dean30…happy with the way this kit came out ,was moving the beast for some outdoor photo when I accidentally drop the canopy [:@] ended-up with a hairline crack …is it possible to request a replacement parts from Trumpeter?
I think if you have a LHS and they have trumpeter it would be a better chance to ask those guys for replacement parts, I have tried to contact Trumpeter but to no avail, however you can always try, they have a website so I’d bet there’s a customer service section.

there’s a login/register section, you can give them feedback on their kits, I have never known any company to do this, and there’s a contact us section at the bottom centre of the page, I think you have to register before contacting them. Good luck!
