Getting ready to build the 1/32 corsair kit from Revell that I’ve had stashed for a few years in my closet. I was wondering which cockpit set would be a better buy? The Black Box or the Verlinden?
Also, I noticed a “Future Release” on another web site for a 1/32 Corsair from Trumpeter. Anybody know anything about this?
Thanks.
You may want to pick up a copy of Verlinden Publications “Modeling, Detailing, Painting, Weathering WWII Aircraft Vol. III”. It has a brief article with some excellent photos of the Verlinden set. It looks pretty good. I don’t know anything about the Black Box set though. Here’s a link to the review of the Black Box set. What I don’t see are the classic pedal troughs
As for the Trumpeter… hard to say. Hopefully they’ll do a better job than they did on the F4F, although they did recall that one. Guessing, I would say it will be a more detailed kit than the Revell and include recessed lines. Stay tuned!
I also have the old Revell Corsair in 32nd. I picked up the Black Box inter and it looks pretty darn good…!!! Let me tell you it is almost a kit in it self
I did pick up a PE set by Eduard just for the Instrument panel. BOY what one will go throu to be happy LOL…!!
Flaps up, Mike
Corsair, Hmm, think I have some blueprints around here somewhere. Also read in a book (Hell in the Heavens by Capt. John M Foster USMCR) that VF-17 was using shorter than standard props from one of the Grumman cats. I,ll hunt up those prints if you are interested.
Found 'em,[:D] I’ve got plans/drawings for 20+ aircraft and I need to start labeling my CDs when I burn them then maybe I can find stuff.[B)]
