1:28 Revell Fokker Dr1 Complete

Steve

I did my paint as they did it in the Fokker factory. I sprayed Humbrol Linen and let it cure for a few days then I dry brushed at the approximate angles with olive green paint. I apologize for not posting this link sooner. During my research I found pictures of the process and lots of info here:

Your scheme looks preety good and more interesting than either solid red or solid green.

Cajun

Your crimson scheme looks real good, specially the weathering.

Thanks PJ,

I what I did is a base of Olive and dry brushing field green over that. I then wet that brush with thinner and drew the brush along the paint to tone down the edges. I looks similar to the picture I have of Richthofen’s mount, although I could probably add some additional dark green. I really like the look of the paint jobs on your link and turns out it’s pretty easy to achieve.

Pretty convincing paint job there, Steve. I think you nailed it.

I finally completed the Baron’s Dr-1. The kit was what you would expect from an old Revell mold, with a little PE added. My figure painting skill obviously needs a little work.

MC,

Very nicely done. All you need is Moritz (his dog) to complete the picture. [:D]

Fantastic looking Fokker, Steve!

Gary

Pretty dang fine job on that classic old kit!

Very well done Steve. Hard to believe it’s a 1950’s mold. The paint scheme is very interesting. [B]

Excellent, excellent work. I am totally jelly over this one. [:P]

BK

Thanks,

BK. I would like to try that Merit International 1/24th scale someday.

Beautifully done. The colors really show through nicely.
