Hello!
After presentation of my paper-card models Pz III,Pz IV,Pz VI,STUG III and Ferdinand ) its good time to show my plastic armor. The first one is T34. I have bought this model few years ago from NEW STAR.Now firm changes the name to TOY STAR,but always it is old TAmiya, but its motorized version.I have done some new parts and changed turret shape.Rihgt front fender is completly new,and it`s by metal.Painting is for I Polish Armor Brigade( I Brygada Pancerna) at 1945.
What do You think about it [?] How do You see the difference between plastic and paper-card models?
Piterpanzer.
Thats a great T-34. I myself am I big fan of Russian armor and enjoy when someone else builds up a impressive Russian build. I myself had my eye on the Trumpeter T-34`s in 1/16 scale. I always wanted to make a motorized T-34/85 in 1/16 or 1/6 .
Looks great from here. I also enjoy your paper models. My father was telling me that when he was a pup he also made paper models that came in a Polish modeling magazine. I will let you know the name when I see him.
Dowidzenia.
Nice model, seems really crisp if that makes sense. The upclose photos you took were pretty nice. Just one suggestion, try taking the photos (the ones of the whole diorama) with ambient light and turn off the flash on your camera. The bad thing about flash is that it gets rid of shadows and throws some on the background so it doesn’t look right. Might help, might not; but worth the try. WAIT, do I see more tanks! How many tanks do you have in there?[tup][tup]
Yup, that is the one.
Is “Maly Modelarz” still being published? I can imagine that there must be some great resources for modelers in Poland as modeling is a popular passtime. Noticed also that there is a lot of great reference books published in Poland and Russia. Cant wait to go back next summer. I was born in Swinoujscie not too far off Szczecin.
(By the way, if anyone is wondering what “Maly Modelaz” means: = Small Modeler or also Young Modeler, I am not too sure on the intention of the name. The name can be translated into both these titles).
Helllo Martin and Friends!
You re right about the name "Maly Modelarz",both are correct. We have 4 big publishers and few smaller. All have tanks(generally armor) ,planes and ships in paper.About scale-1-25 is for tanks,1-33 and 1-24 for planes and ships probably 1-200( Im not sure, itsn`t my subject) .I plane to write about polish firms soon.
as You could see ,I have presented 5 paper model, next 2 I will rebuilt(Panther and Hummel). In plastic T34 and Panther ausf.A are ready .Under construction are Jagdpanter,Opel Blitz , SU 100 and Tiger I .Panter G waits only for camo, but I need help to find good picture. The next are KinG Tiger, again 2 times Tiger I (Tamiya),willys yeep,Praga AN,etc.I have more 20 tanks in line also.
Excellent work. I was very impressed with all your paper models posted prior to this. I think it’s unbelievable that they’re made of paper. But I didn’t understand, is this T-34 also made out of paper? Or is it some Tamiya model, like you mentioned. I didn’t realize Tamiya ever released a 1/25 T-34 kit.
Zoran, this kit is from New Star. Now this firm changes name to Toy Star and You can buy plastic 1-25 T34 -85 and Su 100 .But really it`s only low- grade copy of Tamiya. They give You 2 electrical engines, but no figure and tracks are
in both firms awful. I will have metal tracks soon, then my su100 and 2 T34-85 will drive on metal tracks. From the same form to my paper models T34 I will do resin tracks.
Very nicely done! [:)] But it’s abit too clean. More debris closer to the torn down house would be nicer. And you’ll have to weather that house a little. Bravo! Great work.
Umustb , this tank belong to commander I-st Brygada Pancerna. It had not to many occasion to fight on first line, therefore it was only a little bit damage. Unfortunately, when this tank went to first line near Gdynia at 2.04 .1945 was burned.
In the matter of church ruins it`s on diorama only for this photos, and wait for another buildings. Thanks for Your suggestions.
Wow. I am suprised about the scale of the models from “Maly Modelaz” 1/25 for Armor scale is big scale for paper. I though more at the lines of about 1/72 would be appropriate. Piter, how is the modeling scene in Poland? I am sure there is plenty of hobby stores to keep any modeler buisy.
[:)]
Martin! please wait ,I will write about polish paper-card models soon. That`s right ,99% of them is in 1-25 scale . I give the links to the bigest publishers too. There are english version ,and you can order all favourite armor!
