1/24 scale WWII Fighter Pilot

I finished this guy up this weekend, for an upcoming project. I am really getting into figures lately, and having fun doing it!

Wait’ll you see the other half of the project! his expression will make much more sense!

Fantastic job!!! Love how he came out!

I’d be happy if I were a fighter pilot too- I would totally been one if I didn’t have a bad case of CSS (Can’t See [cnsod])

Thanks Gamera!

In high school, I wanted so badly to be a pilot, but was then informed by visiting recruiters that 2020 vision is a must, so that dream was smashed.

If only my “guidance counselor” wasn’t useless, maybe he could have directed my youthful ambition into still joining up, and becoming a mechanic, or a part of a flight crew…my life could have been really different! Lol

Couldn’t do it;

I tried the Aerofeurza and they told me No Way, Jose! So I come to Hamerica and they say, No Way, Jose!

Then the Marine and Navy recruiters say “Hey Man”, take off de shades foist, Brudda! Passing I then did. But, for neither service, Instead they handed me these big rifle guns with all this funny gear on top. ( I was a gun Captain on a dual Purpose 5" 38.) Well, the Marines did after the Navy decided to break up Damage Control MoS. and create five new jobs. And made my job go away. Then said one man couldn’t do it anymore! So the marines said kin you Fly? Sure, says Me. Here’s my paperwork from flight school from the Civvie world! Hey, this is Multi Engined rating. Yup. Oh, have we gotta job fer you. Nuff said, I passed without all the jokes, But I would’ve had to wait till I was 18 and headed for College.

So I did my flying in the Civvie world and Thank the Marines for having faith in my shooting!

Looking back, many years later.
My snobbish guidance counselor cheerfully catered to
the popular students from the upper class stock and handing out lots of smiles and enthusiastic back patting.

For me, a conference with him was like being handed a blank piece of paper to read.

I should have known …
his title/name was “Mr. Schnobel.”

Should have been Mr. Potato head.

(By the way, apologies offered to anyone here with that name, nothing personal)

Great work Justin. I’m curious to know what the other half of the project is…

Nice, but…

Who’s this guy flying for? WWII Royal Navy? I don’t recognize most of his gear…

He was advertised as “P51 Fighter pilot” i believe, at BNA Model world. Historical accuracy of his gear is not the important part of the story that will be told when project is completed…
