1/24 Pontiac Trans Am 78/80

Hello All, Has anyone put the Testors 1980 1/24 Firebird bumpers front/rear onto a Revell 1978 1/24 3 in 1 successfully? I think the Revell body is better for replicating my old 79 black & gold SE. I want to buy the Testors 1980 kit & use it for parts unless it looks good enough as is, except for the hood. Any info/experience would be great. Thanks. OldSalty.

I’ve only heard bad words used to describe the testors kit (words like ‘mediocre’ and ‘rubbish’)

Thanks Octane for your reply. True, I had a grand idea of taking the Revell 78 1/24 3n1 put front bumper & back from “a” 1/24 source to make my old 79 SE Trans Am. I do have a couple of AMT 79s so maybe a lot of “love”,choice words & putty who knows? Its not like Im the only one to try.

Is that AMT kit the same kit as this?

Hey Mustang, yes but everyone luvs the decals. Jr on the other forum is building the turbo 80 pace car & its pretty much the AMT/MPC I figure. Though the scale is the same on the boxes the front & rear clip AMT & Revell 1/24 wont fit.
