I’m currently building my first large scale r/c tank. I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed sloppy tension pullies? Its one of the first instuctions, and it includes 36mm long screws with tension bushings. When I place the locknut down on the 36mm screw it stops on the tension bushing and the screw and tension pulley can rock back and forth about 1/8 inch. Is this normal? Im figuring the idler wheel in which it will attach to be sloppy.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Dave … welcome to FSM.
If you check the top of the Armour Forum … there’s a group build happening on the Tiger. I’m sure one of those guys will be more than happy to answer your question.
ig88,
Yes, there is some play in the tension pulleys (rocking back and forth) Once I get my kit to where I can do some actual movment, I will examine it closer.
Tamiya has obviously done this for a reason, as the rest of the kit is just an outstanding build with A-1 fit!
Check out the Tiger 1 group build for any other questions you may have (sticky post at the top of the Armor forum) I have also devoted a website to this build. Just click on the link below.
Thanks for the help, and great web site too! Could you clue me on to where to get those great PE parts from Aber?
Thanks again!

I will keep you all posted on my own Tiger
Here you go…
Military Hobbies is where I ordered my set from:

Airconnection also has the 1/16 Aber set available:

Dave, I believe you may want to rethink the Aber PE set for the R/C version. I bought it for mine, but realized that the PE being held together with super glue would get launched into oblivion everytime the tank bumped into something. Luckily I was able to trade my Aber PE set for the 1/16th Kiing Tiger!
