1/16 t-34 small update

hey you guys[:D]-- i finally made it to the outside of my t-34–the interior is about 95 per cent finished (a few control rods have to be fabricated to mate the top of the hull with the bottom)—i worked hard on the base color-- mixing and making test panels-- IMHO will look good after washes and minimal weathering–I scratched the hinges for the outer inspection panel from lead foil off a bottle of Belvenie 12 yr old scotch![(-D]-- tough work-- somebody has to do it!-- I also drilled and pinned the hinges and added alot of welding detail and am in the process of trying to make the fan louvres functional with the lever in the fighting compartment-- aw crap, - I don’t usually write so much-- here are some pics-- the fifth photo is a reference photo I worked from-- these tanks were kinda crude, and i am trying to capture that look with my welds etc.-- thanks for looking — tread[:P]

Maybe a stupid question but: the hull will be easily removed so you can see the interior wont it? Otherwise it is still the finest example of an armor model I have ever seen. Keep up the good work.[BG][dinner]

It looks awesome Tread. The last pictures look like the picture of real T-34 which would have been restored. Great work and I think the color is spot on.

Looks great. Kind of weird finally seeing you work on the exterior after so many moths of beautiful interior work.

My thoughts exactly, but it’s good to see the same level of attention being paid to the exterior…because it means it’s getting closer to being finished. Super work as always tread! [tup]

truly spectacular tread this build continues to amaze me with every installment. i see the outside is goin to be every bit as detailed as the inside. keep it coming.

Fan……
[bow]….tastic!

[sigh] It’s a shame the engine & tranny doesn’t actually
work and it’s a done deal that the outside of this tank is
going to be a fitting reflection of the beauty of the interior.
You need to consolidate these pictures and dialogue
to publish a “How-to” book. [#toast] You ought to send a few
of these Pics to trumpeter as well, heck, they might
want to hire you on as an advisor.
If this doesn’t turn up in Finescale Modeler as an article,
I [%-)] surely don’t know why.
I look forward [:P] to seeing this model at the IPMS Nationals
as Best of Show, Best Armor and Most popular entry.

The very Best to you on such an outstanding project.
