Does anyone know of a 1/15 or 1/16 Hanomag kit that is available or does anyone know of conversion instructions on how to build one? I’m not looking to build one from scratch but could handle converting from something (I’ve heard that the 1/25 Panther can make a good starting point). Thanks, Doug.
I believe the 21st Century stuff is workable for 1/16th scale. They are made in 1/18th scale.
You’re referring to the SdKfz 251 halftrack of course. I’m almost certain that the term “Hanomag” is just a postwar invention of Tamiya marketers. Hanomag was one of seven manufacturers of the SdKfz 251 series. By troops, it was called the SPW (ess-pay-vay) or schutzenpanzerwagen (heavy armored personel carrier).
heya[8D] check out this link-- www.tanktraxx.com on the page is a 1/16 Sd.Kfz 11/4 3 ton Hanomag halftrack using 1/25 panther wheels — this model is also r/c and there is a cool movie showing it operating-- Hanomag is a German heavy equipment manufacturor still in business today, i believe-- hope that may help- maybe you could contact the builder-- treadwell[:P]
