1/144 U-boat rigging

I’m about to make a start on the Revell Das boot kit and was wondering what diameter is best for rigging line?
I have 2 spools of AK line but they look a little too thin, not quite sure what there diameters are.

When I done a search for 1/144 line for U-boat it suggested 00.5?
Cheers

I wasn’t able to find a specific answer for you – I probably read through the same lists of search results that you found.

That said, at 144th scale, I’d probably try the thin stuff and see how it looks – better too thin than too thick for a scale effect. In the end, it just has to “look right” unless you think a U-boat expert is going to come check your rigging with a micrometer…

How are you finding that kit? I’ve always been curious.

Thanks for taking your time looking.
I’ve done so many searches trying to find the right diameter, even no evidence on how thick the real cable was on a 1/1 scale at least that way I could use a scale calculator and work it out.
I’ve ordered some 0.05 rigging and hopefully that might do it.
As far as the kit goes it’s not bad, going to add my own hand rails on the conning tower as there molded on.
It could do with a photo etch upgrade but not going to spend anything on it.
Cheers

Check for build threads (no pun intended  ) for this kit. This guy mentions using a certain fishing line. If you like the way it looks you can probably figure out the diameter
