I am Dutch, living in Spain. I’ve been in scale modelling since I was 8 years old, now 47 years ago. In the last decade I’ve picked up the hobby again more seriously but I had to learn a whole lot of new techniques, materials and products. As a kid I never had access to a good airbrush and we only had enamel paints. Now there are acrylics, weathering materials and a whole lot more things that make it all a lot more interesting.
I’ve been faithful to enamels until very recently, even for airbrushing. Now I’m starting out with acrylics, mostly because of the smells that come with the chemicals you need to clean and thin enamels.
