Here’s what I have for color equivalent from Alclad

Hope this helps. Got to put in a plug for this app again. It is so helpful! It’s called Hobby Color Converter.

Alclads are really good paints, but they take a fair amount of prep work. Don’t put them down directly on plastic. I didn’t have good luck with them when I used my regular primer (Stynylrez), but when I used Alclad’s primer, they worked much better.

While I still use Alclad, I tend to use AK Interactive XTreme Metals. Very similar quality and performance, and I have actually sprayed them directly onto plastic with no primer coat (although I don’t recommend for general use).

I have one of the early Revell boxings (which I picked up at a thrift store for $2) buried in the stash. Would be interested in seeing your build @dogzilla17 .

Thanks Guys - I do have a few ‘Mr Metal Color’ paints that spray really well - the most I have covered with them are engine blocks & exhausts – I’ll consult that equivalency chart to see what might be suitable for the larger cover areas – I really appreciate the help - It may be a while to begin , Ive got the 1/16 Takom Pz I B currently in process and Dragon’s 1/35 Tiger 131 patiently waiting at the top of the stash

Perhaps start off with Tamiya’s airframe silver in the rattle can as a base coat. It has a fine grain, is pretty durable, and looks good as an aluminum base. And then you can use other paints to create the mosaic of metallic shades.

And don’t forget that Reskit is now selling tires to “armor” your Russian bombers!
