Can anyone tell me if Zvezda make good quality kits, at all! I’m particularly interested in their russian armour! Do Academy produce good kits, too? Thanks!
Have a look here: http://www.finescale.com/FSM/CS/forums/616461/ShowPost.aspx
Zvesda and Academy have good ones and bad ones.
The T-34/76, Zis 151 truck and BT-5 are considered pretty good. Academy has dogs (M18 Hellcat, M551Sheridan) and gems (M113A1 APC, M12 Gun Motor Carriage). What are you looking for in particular, Eddie?
I’m working on a Stug III right now from them.
I’ll be having a full report shortly, but a one word review for you right now:

The StuG is a fairly old moulding, but then again, you probably got it at a very reasonable price. Personally, they have good and bad kits IMO, but all of them are very buildable.
Not sure what you mean the M-18 is a dog. Ok, so its not the most accurate, but it goes together ok enough, with a little bit of work.
These are the kits i’m after by Zvezda: Heavy Tank JS-2, BT-5, ISU-122, ISU-152, SU-100, BT-7, OT-26, T-26, T-60, and all their T34 kits, including the T34 with Mine Roller! Thanks for ya’ replies!

How old is old? In other words, have they improved any? Aside from being a reseller of other maker’s kits.
//\ As you said, they are mostly knockoffs of Tamiya products, the early Academy German stuff is.
