zis-2 kits

who makes a 1/35th ZIS-2 kit? i know UM makes them in 1/72 along with models east i think and i believe macquet makes a 1/35 scale with a pretty bad review. zvezda makes a ZIS-3 and there’s wheels and barrels for the zis-2 conversion.

i’m a bit paranoid about converting a zis-3 kit, at least until i find some good reference material. does anyone make a good out of the box zis-2 kit? anyone know a good source of information about and comparison between zis-2 and zis-3? from what i know they’re practically the same gun with different barrrels (and i see the wheels are different) but there’s GOTTA be some more minor differences like shield shapes and bolt patterns.

Here’s a review of the Maquette Zis-2. The kit uses the very good Italeri/Zvezda Zis-3 M42 gun as a base.

Skif makes both a Zis-2 and -3 in 1/72 scale. Basically the same kit with different guns. Nice too.

For 1/35, Maguette seems to be the only game in town. However, as far as their kit goes, I’ve heard that a lot of the good things about the Italeri/Zvezda parts has been replaced by third rate junk from their own mouldings. I don’t now whether this was fixed in subsequent re-releases.
