Zimmerit questions

Before I get started on the subject, let me point out that I haven’t built a WWII German Tank since the early 80’s. And I see there have been some changes made in the last 20 years. (sigh) This morning I discovered that my zimmerit making skills have been lost to the ages and I was wondering about aftermarket sets. I’m working on a Tamiya King Tiger and would like some input on which set would come more highly recommended. Cavelier or Verlinden? (somewhere in the shelves I have a set of Italieri Zimmerit panels, but I can’t see using those)

Hey bro,

Welcome to the forum. As far as the aftermarket zimm sets, I have little to no experience. Like you, I returned to the hobby from the early 80’s and with the help of the guys in this forum, I built a 1/16 Tiger I with zimmerit. I would suggest doing a bit of research and talking to Moses here in the forum. He’s THE man to talk to regarding zimmerit. I will always recommend doing it yourself because it’s fun and more importantly, you get to decide exactly how you want it to turn out. Consider it.
