Hey William [Y] Good to have you back …[^o)]…i was wondering where you were . Thanks for looking in and good to hear you like the build . The fenders …i did rub some more shades of Mig pigs and chalks on them , that’s probably the diff your seeing . I look at this thing so often that i didnt really notice the change myself .
[t$t]
Hey buddy…things are coming along fantastic! [B] Chassis is looking great, colors are right on and you have been doing some great work with those MIG pigments. The lights came out really nice and I may have to try your technique for that. Scratch work under the hood is looking good and look forward to see some more [Y]
Rob , good to hear from you again !
Looking real good! Now I want to learn how to hot wire so I can steal your truck for a joy ride…
Andy , thanks . Have a nice ride !
This keeps getting better and better Carl. You do great work!
Ibuild , i sure appreciate that [Y]
How’s lookin’ under the hood? More wires? The inquiring mind wants to know… and me too[whstl]
Marc , i think i’m done with my wiring under the hood .I put some paint on the cab enterior and the firewall last p.m. I’m going for the final push to get the cab on … after i get few details cleaned up . like the missing axle hub on the right rear wheel location .
I did have a hub glued on their …but it was the wrong one , this vehicle being a 6 wheel drive means the front axle has a different hub than the rear axles…so of course i glued one of the fronts on the right rear .Then i did’nt notice it till later, after the glue had set up nice and hard . I popped off the right front ok but the right rear hub cover broke apart . So i made a new one from scratch with various size if styrene tubing and stretched spue for the hub fasteners .
Carl
over all and nice hub recovery.
The tires are still amazing to me; realy realy good “dirty tires” (hate to admit where I saw some today, as I got out of my truck…-----wheres the rain when I need to wash it ?)
Steve , glad you like . Speaking of rain , we could sure use some !
Carl that is nice work on the hub. Gotta love that feeling of accomplishment when you turn out some nice scratch building. But if it happens again and your not in the scratch mood, try this.
Take some silly putty and press it on one of the other hubs. Makes a perfect impression. ix a tiny amount of casting resin and Bob’s your uncle… a new hub in no time.
Nice job on the replacement hubs Carl, I’ve been there before and it’s always a sinking feeling when you realize you’ve made that kind of part swap error.
