Zevezda

Has anyone purchased/built any of the Zvesda ship model kits? Your opinion?

I built the November-class sub. Its nice, includes two sail variants and an optional chin sonar dome. The only problem I found was the fit of the deck. There was insuffiecient support for the deck along the length of the hull and it dipped below level in several locations. That and the fit of the flat deck into the curved roundovers of the bow and stern. The color call-outs are a bit fictional. Otherwise a nice & easy build. The

I have both the Kursk and the K-3 November Class. Not yet built. Thanks for giving to me your opinion. I may buy more of them based on your good assesment.

Zvezda has some good stuff. Check out their 1/350 Varyag/Borodino kit. They say its one of the best kits in that scale ever. I also heared that their carphagenian warship is not bad ether…

Some of their kits are actually repops of old Heller kits: English Brigantine, Pourquoi Pas and Occident (which Zvevda calls the Sirius), all were 1/100 and all are based on the same basic hull. The original Heller kits had their faults but all would build up into attractive if not necessarily accurate models. No significant changes were made by Zvevda to these molds that I could see. WS
