Zeppelin Arrived Last Night

At our club meeting last night a fellow modeler delivered to me a Hawk Zeppelin kit I had asked him to build for me to showcase my paint. I think it turned out rather well!

Absolutely beautiful! Tell him he did a great job. The finish is fantastic.

It turned out very well indeed.

Regards, Rick

I want one! whines But where on Earth would I put it?

This one will either hang in the stairwell down into the manspace or over a doorway in my office (I’ll make a gun rack type wall mounted hanger) .

Zeppelin by da moon lite!

She’s a beauty!

Nice work! Who built that for you?

The demarcation of the various panels adds such an extra dimension to the skin! Wow!..great job!

er…and the paint is nice too!

Roger Witt. He’s Awesome!

Tell him he did an AWESOME job on that one!

Hawk - Is the cabin lit from inside ?

It is a very pretty one !

Chris

Yeah! The kit comes with a light kit.

Nice job! I have to say though I’ve read one annoying thing about this model and that’s that the engines are made of a soft polythene plastic that doesn’t stick to normal injection plastic or take paint very well. I thought this model was supposed to be all injection plastic like it says on the box?

That is a fact, the engines leave something to be desired, I am going to ask the folks at Hawk about that.

That would be great if you could Hawkeye! I hate that polythene stuff and I don’t know why they decided to make them from that awful material and surely proper injection styrene would have been so much better and easier. It’s made me have second thoughts about getting it and because airships are perhaps more of a niche market than world war 2 aircraft for example I think that could well put other people off buying them too.

They’ve replaced awkward vac formed parts that are hard to put together with engines that won’t stick very well [if at all] and take paint easily! Stupid!

So where’s the Rocketeer when we need him???

And not forgetting Sky Captain!

I’d settle for Indiana Jones knocking people off saying “no ticket!”

She’s a beaut![tup]

Beautiful work and the finish is superb. I really like your “moon light” photo. It looks like a midnight bombing run on London.
