Hello friends.
I though I would start these posts in order to gain some insight and to learn something more than what I already know. I hope you all will contribute to these posts and I hope you learn something also.
I am wondering how you guys handle flash and seam removal, what tools do you use and how do you use them.
For myself, for “flash” I usually use varius sharp X-acto knife blades to remove the flash until the blades start to touch the acual part because the flash has been removed. After that, I finish with a very fine grit sandpaper and apply some Testors silver to see if the part is nice and clean. [8D]
As for the leftover plastic that is left over after cutting the parts off the spures ( I am not too sure what this is called) , I use a course file or sanding sticks when the left over plastic from the tree is still safe to sand. When it gets down to a little stub, I switch to a fine or very fine sandpaper to finish it off. This usually depends on the shape and where these part/spure holder are attached.
Hoped this helped in any way.
