...your other hobby?

soccer in the adult leagues around here, golf, cycling and running… doing my first duathalon in two weeks. Also season’s ticket holder to the new Toronto FC soccer team in my city. haven’t had muc htime for computer games but Company of Heroes is definitely my favourite along with age of empries and the like

Cool, another two wheel head. And sounds like good community directed projects done. cool cool.

ring a bell, YES, although I’ve never met him. The Cyclecide scene is a little toward my flavor of two wheeling.

wooden ship models, computer wargames (steel panthers, war in the pacific, operational art of war, distant guns, civilization 4), 3D computer graphics (things like MK-II, JGPZ-IV, german rr flatcar, galloping goose), reading (military history, history, harry potter, alternate history and what-if, science), tai chi, racquetball, mountain biking (but not serious off-road)

well i have a few other hobbies but not many

my girlfreind is a big hobby for me about 60% of my day is spent around her…i am a very active paintball player being as i played for a store for about 2 years when i quit the team to make my own…FIREARMS FIREARMS FIREARMS i might be young but i collect old military rifles going after WW2 the most…and my money pit truck [sigh] i have put over $1000 into it just to keep it running because its in my grandfathers name sense i am 17 and he wont let me sell it AT ALL…then i am trying to get into a reenacting group i am talking with the leader

I’ve posted a lot in other threads about Paintballing and Reenacting, but one of my other hobbies is collecting autographed copies of autobiographies of WWII pilots, I have Bud Anderson, Paul Tibbets, Robert Morgan and Gottfried Dulias, a german pilot…just to name a few. I’m lucky to be pretty close to Reading Pa where they hold a WWII airshow each year, so all of them are personalized. I also have quite a few of the original Band of Brothers signitures. Its great to get to talk to each one of those guys.

They’re all more than happy to sign a book, as long as they know your not going to turn around and sell it, to me the collection is priceless, i can’t imagine just doing it to make a buck.[2c]

I race offroad dirtbike races called Hare Scrambles and Enduro’s. Both are conducted in nasty terrain–not like motocross, with the groomed tracks and all…The typical Hare Scrambles course is from 4-12 miles long, through the tight woods, over rock gardens, up mountainsides, through muddy swamps and streams–really technical riding, but fast! They last two hours plus 1 lap. Enduro’s are even MORE technical, and unlike Hare Scrambles where the fastest guy in your class wins, are raced against the clock, with timekeeping skills being as important as riding ability. They can be up to 120 ground miles and last as long as 4-5 hours. Here’s my trusty mount–a Suzuki RMX-250, as well as my “street bike”; a Suzuki dual-sport DRZ-400.

I also read and study History–War, Midieval History, and Religion. I play PSII–Tomb Raider and Medal of Honor are my faves, and I also play a mean guitar–but I do that for a living, so…does that count as a hobby?! [{(-_-)}]

I have a few hobbies besides building models. Connected to or part of model building is photography, course like most here (I think) I take a lot of pics of my models.

I play instruments like piano, guitar (eletric and auccustic) and saxophone, and also compose music on a low budget hobby level with the aid of my computer, my instruments, a microfon and a dedicated soundcard.

I lot of what I do revolve around the computer and I use it a lot in different ways. I build and configure my computers, I play games and record my music on it, and I’ve theached computer basics. Lately I’ve tried 3D modelling and I do some photoshopping, and of course I use it to visit a lot of forums like this for instance.

I sometimes draw or paint pictures, play RPGs, paint metal figures and read books (fantasy and sci fi mostly).

I don’t think of my spouse ands kids as a hobby, it’s a lifetime commitment, and I love it!

Azgaron

My 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 LE.

Well first is my kids (which can put you in the poorhouse keeping up with there fads and hobbies) I also play paintball (and probably have more parts guns than not). My kids and I picked up an R/C car habit a couple of years ago. I like woodworking and have an almost complete woodshop in the garage ( home improvement is a good excuse to use on the wife to add a tool here and there). Im probably putting someones kids at Amazon and Barnes and Noble thru college with my reading obsession (wifes term for it). I love shooting and actually had an FFL C&R for awhile cause I really like old battle rifles. And of course there is this hobbie which is dearest to heart at the moment!

Most of the other hobbies that I engage in regular are things we do as a family. Meaning me, wife, son, and any “extended” family(family that I CHOOSE to be family, friends who have proven themselves beyond worthy of my friendship). Anyhow, that pretty much includes, 4 wheeling, and shooting. 4 wheeling is a me and wife kinda thing. Shooting is a whole family affair. Just right now the kid is too young to take shooting. He’s not even 2 yet. I think when he is about 3 or 4 years old, I will start teaching him about gun safety with a water pistol, then airsoft, then bb/pellet, then .22, then move on from there, as long as he keeps demonstrating proper firearm safety and handling. I wouldn’t hesitate at the age of 14 to bust his butt back down to water pistol if he demonstrates irresponsible behaviour regarding firearms. For a rangemaster, especially when kids are involved, I’m far beyond a jerk. Ask my brother in law and his friend. Ask my father in law. I even yelled at him, for pointing an empty rifle with the bolt removed in the wrong direction.

Other hobbies that I don’t engage in too much, include flying my R/C Helo(Blade CX/2), R/C Truck(Current generation RC10GT), racing(real cars but it’s rare I get to do this anymore), computers(tech/network by trade), audio/visual, photography(although I’m not much of a photographer I admit), computer graphics(I do this alot in spare time when at the computer when nothing else to do), Computer games(rarely), PS2(rarely), reading novels(rarely) reading magazines(ALOT and a diverse selection), Hacking(no not the kind you are thinking of, I don’t break into people’s computers), spending time with my family(whenever I can), Working(far FAR too much), college student, and a few others I cannot remember right now since you are asking. I also work on cars alot as well. Used to do BMX Flatland riding, but my bikes kept getting ripped off, and I now have severe Osteo Arthritus so kinda rules that one out anymore.

EDIT

Forgot to mention, I also play guitar, keyboard, and sing. I also can play but do not have instruments for Bass, and Drums(although not too good at playing the drums, in fact I suck, but I can play them, sort of).

Not personally, LOL. But the last game I went to a few weeks ago, he was the starting pitcher.

Don’t think I have other hobby except models other than military kits like Gundam kits. My 2 yrs old kid already take up most of my time, occassionally help out my wife in household chores. By the time I can work on my models, is already 11pm to 1am in the morning everyday except the airbrushing seesion on the weekends for only 2 hrs to spare.

fantacmet, shooting firearms is my personal fav when I was still serving my time in the army. Previously engaged in GPMG (General Purpose MG), all sorts of rifles handling and firing etc where all stuff you can think of in the Army! But the part I hate most is cleaning them!! Especially GPMG and 0.5 cal gun!!! AARGGHH!!!

he’s my Aunt’s brother in-law si he got us free tickets to the brewers-nationals game when they came here in VA, well DC…he pitched and didnt do very well but oh well.

Hello, I race offroad triathlon - XTERRA!

I like to go shooting. My Grandpa has a M1 Carbine, 1903 Spingfield, and a Colt .45. All I have is a .22 pistol and rifle. I collect the Department of the Army books from WW2 and books in general. I read alot, collect patches and medals. I get my books autographed. I have one that is autographed by a man who flew on the PLoesti raid. I have some airplane parts. A gunsight and Emergency cumpass. I also collect state quarters and play Ice Hockey.

Some day I aspire to improve to the point where I can call myself a bad golfer,I also enjoy attending baseball games,my wife and I make road trips to visit the various new MLB ballparks.I enjoy TV and reading, and playing and surfing the computer.

It’s great to see so many folks involved with antique firearms and shooting in general. I have my 1909 7mm Peruvian 95 model Mauser as my “antique,” and a small collection of shotguns, pistols and my trusty Ruger 10/22. Anyone shoot trap/skeet?

I’m also into online first person shooters. Now I’m playing Rainbow Six Vegas (rank of sergeant,). I used to play Call of Duty 2 quite a bit, but lost interest. I was big into Gears of War but traded it in because I got sick of the 12-year-old’s with the big mouths and the small brains.

along with modeling armor i fly R/C planes and shooting with my dad, and military history

…It is refresshing to see so many folks with a mix of “cerebral” hobbies with physical ones…so often us model “geeks” are not thought of as well-rounded…

The paranormal. Not a ghost chaser yet, but I found the TV show Ghost Hunters (TAPS) very interesting, got hooked on watching it, and have always had an interest in ghost stories and visiting “haunted” places with my friends. People kind of look at you wierd when you show an interest in this kinda thing, but when you’ve experienced it, it becomes fact rather than fantasy really quickly. I also enjoy mountain biking and salt water fishing at the Outer Banks.
