Mine are early tanks (1917 - 1941) and Eastern Front 1941.
Am I the only one here that isn’t attracted by Tigers and Panthers? [%-)]

Hi Drago’s i share the same tastes i love pre war designs also and was never that excited by shermans and tigers etc, but after a while and after building a couple i grew to like them also but still i prefere some of the more unusual subjects. [:)]
No, you are not the only one who isn’t just a Tiger or Panther fan (although I do like them)…probably my favorite tank is the Mk III, followed by the Mk IV…the Mk III was the predominant German tank in all theatres until about the time of Kursk, when it was being slowly phased out…the chassis, of course, continued serving as the platform for the StuG until the end of the war…of course, examples of Mk III’s could also be found fighting in isolated cases until the end of the war, too…to me, the early german successes are synonymous with the Mk III…
I’m a fan of armored cars, any time period, and Allied and Axis. Aside from the few armored cars Tamiya makes, and a few smaller companies that make some Soviet vehicles, there really aren’t many injection molded armored car kits. DML and Trumpeter both make just about every single variant of the Tiger and Panther there was , but neither one can make a single armored car like the Humber or Rolls Royce. England used quite a few armored cars during and after WW2. And there are lots of cool looking armored cars used in Africa. Maybe some day, I can always hope.
Though I started off on WWII armor, now I prefer anything but WWII. I really like armor from the last 20 years, basically because it represents the time I have spent in the US Army.
Although there are a lot of subjects yet untouched in the area of armored cars, I don’t think it is as bad as you state: Bronco just released a Humber Mk I…also, DML has released every mark of the 234 and tamiya has released the 221, 222 and older version of the German 8 German wheeler, as well as the American M8 and M20…and there are a slew of Soviet WW2 era armored cars on the market…
Tigers and Panthers have their place, but my personal tastes tend towards WW2 and German with an emphasis on earlier war designs and later ad-hoc open-topped vehicls and/or the assault gun types. I’m also partial to half-tracked vehicles for some reason, not really sure why other than they have so many different variants all by themselves that there’s never a shortage of interesting subjects with them.
I love Elefants, StuG’s, Panthers’, ah heck…most anything German. Yes, my apologies to the modern armor guys as well as the OD boys. [:D]
Central Europe, 1980 or so to the modern day.

There are a couple of areas of interest.
Primary is WWII to present US Artillery (both cannon & missile) and equipment used for Artillery support.
Also intersted in US AA Artillery (both cannon and missile), AT (both cannon and missile), and stategic missiles…Humm I think I have a fixation…OK…And now for something completly different, and then there is helios!!..PS, one jet, the A-10 (Hmmm A-10, flying cannon, must have a fixation) [swg]
Primary scale is 1/35 or close (1/32 or 1/40).
Rounds Complete!!
Soviet armor - pre-WWII, WWII and post WWII up until about 1950. I don’t know why…it just calls to me. I particularly like the SP guns - SU and JSU series.

My favorite theme is simple, but diverse…WWII ground units (mid 1930’s thru 1945)…infantry, armor, softskins, artillery, or support equipment, from any country involved. I can’t limit my interest to something narrower. My second favorite subject is SciFi…
You know, this actually made me sit down for a bit and think about it. Judging by my shelf of builds, I haven’t actually established my favorite theme…yet. [;)] My stash is comprised mostly of German WWII stuff (both ground and air) with a smattering of U.S. vehicles, but lately I’ve been branching out a bit…some British and Soviet stuff in there as well. Then of course there’s the modern arena, which I wouldn’t classify as my favorite, but it is interesting to me to be able to model something that’s in use…now.
I suppose being so new in my return to the modeling world, I have soooo many kits I haven’t built yet (all of them, really!) that it’s a little early for me to find my “niche”. I do have this funny attraction to the Sd.Kfz.251 series, though. Heh. [;)]
Never really thought about it until now. I’d say 90% of my WWII armor and aircraft are 1942-1945. I lean towards the German stuff, but also have a fair amount of American armor as well. I guess I’ve always been interested in the latter half of the war because that’s when all the technological advances really took hold and laid the foundation for modern weapons development.
Early WW2 armor, pre-war armor. I like the big riveted/bolted look of those tanks as well as IJA tanks of WW2 (they never got past the riveted look).
I too have a strong fondness for the 251 series. As for a theme I’d have to go with WWII German armor. Seems to be what is mainly being built on my workbench although I do have the occasional T34 and JS-2, along with some U.S. armor.

-Cold War/Modern armor and fighters.
-Battleships (all time frames).
-Starting to get a intrest in modern navel and figures, expermenting with figure painting (LOTR Belrog) and still have a scratch build of a 2 1/2 ft long Warlock destroyer from Babylon 5 TV series and intend to continue scratch building such subjects when I settle down some place for long enough.
I used to be intrested in WW2 armor but my intrested in that has been replaced with modern armor.
Paper Panzers, and some other WW2 German tanks. Cold War, Modern, French Indochina, and of course Rhodesian, and South African subjects.
WWII, all theaters and countries
Cold War-particulary 1980-1990 also Soviet Hungary intervention 1956.

Vietnam/Korea
Arab/Israeli wars 1967-1982
Lately I’ve gotten a serious interest in WWII Russian equipment, and before that I built U.S. stuff mostly. But some folks on this board have cause my stash to just explode lately with German equipment as well. Before all this I did do a good bit of Vietnam stuff, but never was happy with the results. I now know why, and will be doing a few items over the next year or so in the era. The area I really do want to make a serious stab in is the Korean War stuff, and North Africa. I’ll be doing a lot of Korean research over the next 12 months so expect questions and opinions of thoughts from me in the future. I’ve found that you guys are a wealth of information just wanting to be tapped into. Expect lots of off the wall questions!
I also do other stuff as well. I’ll be working on a series of German fighters, as well as several British planes as well. I’d like to get back into the twin engine series that Monogram at one time had me hooked on. But alas my favorite planes are still the pre-WWII aircraft. (I’m still in dire need of a Staggerwing [hint, hint]). Lately I’ve become interested in ships. mainly subs, and will be doing three or four more over the next couple of years. But on the otherhand I see my interest in race cars going away, just like motorcycles did.
