Mine is currently 1/72, but I am anticipating having fun with my new 1/25 kit. I like 1/72 because:
Cheaper
difficult
take less space
easy to move around and take places
So what are everyones favorites?
I like 1/35 because of the detail involved. But then again I have never tried any other scale so I can’t really say I don’t like em. Maybe I’ll try a 1/72 and get back to you.
1/35 just seems to an all around good scale. Allthoguht he shelf is starting to argue with me.
1/35 because of the large number of subjects available. Its big enough to be able to detail, but small enough not to compete for living space…yet.
1/35 both for the selection of available kits and the ability to get a lot of detail.
I like 1/35th scale because of the variety and detail of the kits.
My first armor kits were 1/76 and 1/72 (Airfix, Fujimi, Hasagawa), then switched to 1/35 and now back to 1/72 (though I kept a couple of my favorite 35th scale ones). I like the pricing on the 72nd (although those resin kits are still high) and the detail has gotten much better. But mainly, I like to see the size of the aircraft, tanks, pt boats and even sci-fi in comparison.
I’m into 1/35 but I never understood why 1/48 isn’t more popular.
1/35 for the selection of kits, and for the amount of detail. However price and space are a concern.
1/35 seems to be the ideal in terms of detail and selection. 1/72 seems to be taking off, but I don’t think I’ll ever get into those scales. They’re just far too small for me. I wouldn’t find it fun, and the end result just wouldn’t be pleasing for me to look at. I like the size of the 1/35 as well, it’s just perfect.

I do 1/35 for subjects where I want a lot of detail
for others, I build in 1/72 to save space.(which i don’t have as a luxury)[sigh]
Like the many others 1/35. It does seem to be a comfortable scale, though I’ll argue some of the pieces appear to be might small such as grabhandles and whatnot. I also like the variety and the PE and AM products available.
I prefer 1/35th because of the range of subjects/time periods. I started with 1/72 because of the range of subjects at the time (late 60’s to mid-70’s) then dabbled with 1/48, but the variety was (and still is) extremely limited. In the late 70’s, 1/35th began to have increased variety (WW-II and modern era). By the 80’s, detail began to improve, Italeri caused Tamiya to lower their prices to stay competative, and DML/Dragon began to make it’s mark with better mold/detail, greater scale accuracy and lower prices. Also the range of afetr-market accessories expanded like crazy, making the variety even better.
Hi, This year I’ve been literally hooked on the 1/16 scale size with Trumpeter’s new family of T-34s. I’ve done more scratch-building and other detailing on them than I have ever done on any other kit. And I think this is mainly due to being able to work with the much bigger pieces a whole lot easier. Of course, I’m sure this has quite a bit to do with the fact that I’m no spring chicken anymore and the eyes are one of the first things to tell you this (along with a few other physical items, ha, ha!).
I still enjoy the 1/35 scale kits, but I would never attempt to do the altering and other various changes on them that I’ve been able to do in this bigger scale.
But all this is just my personal opinion.

I like 1/35 but 1/72 is close behind. Gues I like it because there is a BIG selection and there are more extras for them, like barrels, PE, interiors and figures.
1/35th scale. There is such a choice in that arena.

I like 1/16. Much more detail and the size is impressive.
Mine 1/35 because is not to big or to small the perfect scale to do tanks and they fit perfectly in my house…LOL…
