Great looking steed indeed! I know I’m gonna get slammed for this, but a 51 just doesn’t look right without invasion stripes. You did a very fine job of representing that A/C. I really liked your presentation, too.

Are you referring to ordinance? I like to build my fighters “clean”, with no external rockets/tubes or even drop tanks, as they detract from the aircraft’s purest form. (Oh man. Did I just say that? Let’s go wear black turtlenecks, play bongos and smoke clove cigarettes!) This is not to say I NEVER stick on bombs, etc., on my projects, but the 51 is such a sleek, sexy thang, just the airframe by itself does the talking as to the formidable character of the fighter.
And to all, thanks for the positive feedback. But if y’all aren’t careful with the compliments, I might just spring ANOTHER project on you! Eeek!
Well so glad you asked! Currently in the Nerds’s plastic grinding machine is the Monogram (yes, Monogram, you know how I feel about those things!) Heinkel HE 111 in our favorite 1:48. At the very least, it will be sufficient excuse to sniff more glue. Wish me luck, though, that nose bubble with all those window frames will certainly prime me for the funny farm, if 15 years of marriage hasn’t already!

Nice Stang. Preddy is one of my favorite WW2 aces and you sure did his ride justice. I have one of them 111’s in my hangar, err closet. I think I’m gonna leave her be until I see how you managed with yours. lol Very entertaining build review. Thanks for the laughs.
