You can never have too many Sherman’s right [:D] Some progress pics from one of my builds. Still need decals, drybrushing and washes. It’s a standard 1/72 Hasegawa kit but I just couldn’t leave it alone. I had to cut out the engine panels and attempt to scratchbuild the engine. One thing is for sure, close up pictures sure do reveal everything [:(!][:(][:p][:D]
That looks really good. Scratchbuilding that scale is hard work. I’ve always thought that you braille scalers must be gluttons for punishment. My stubby little fingers are useless with 1/72.
That is pretty amazing I-beam. anytime one scratch builds in 1/72 that is an accomplishment. I’m sure some of our braille scale folks will have a comment or two on your build. Thanks for sharing. Semper Fi, mike
i-beam, after ATTEMPTING a couple of braile scales (no comment) I have a new appreciation for those of you who do such a good job with them. Nice work, great scratchbuilding!
all is not lost, though. my braile british cargo truck/bofors AA MIGHT make it.
I beam - nice job. You need to get away from that “tiny” stuff and start wrenching in 1/35th! - good progress on the Shermy, can’t wait to see the finished job…
Thanks for comments everyone. Don’t give me so much credit for braile scale work. I look at the detailing that people do in 1/35 armor interiors and the flyboys with thier incredibly detailed cockpit interior work and that makes me drop my jaw.
Edit: Steve, the real truth is REAL ESTATE. If I had more room, 1/35 would be the rule and I’d use the 1/72’s for hood ornaments [:D]
Yeah I hear that, space is the catch-22, I wonder where these guys are gonna park thier 1/16th Tigers and T-34’s? I just have never been a 1/72nd guy. The new 1/48th armor coming out should help a lot. I hear and read from reviews that the detail is there on these kits and they don’t take up much “real estate”.
