I just picked up the DML Panther II model. I was told that it was a limited release, and when they are gone, they are gone. (I got the last one at my LHS.) I understand the Panther F is the same story. My LHS got a case of them yesterday, and they had 8 left. I didn’t get one as the price was more than double the price of the II. I asked them about that and they are going to check it out. I might get it next week, depending on availability and cash!
Thanks, Mark. L:ooks like a pretty easy build. Less than a 20 dollar kit! Not many of those around anymore, except the really old kits. (This is probably one, I guess.) It does have indy links, of course, being a DML. I probably wouldn’t have gotten it, if the guy hadn’t told me it was a limited rerelease. He said the E-100 is already off the shelves, too.
Is this what we can expect from DML now? Along with all the new releases, a bunch of onetime rereleases that are only available for a week or two?? Doesn’t make me a happy camper, that!
Tamiya does the same thing Bill. Each year they seem to rerelease OOP kits. I mean I can’t believe some of them that keep coming out. I hope they continue a trend and continue to update older inaccurate kits. I’d still prefer new kits that they have never made before though.
Woohooo, I have the ol’ Panther II too, Bill! Found it at a shop that specializes in old kits, though.
I think Dragon will continue to re-release it’s popular older kits from time to time.
They’d be dopes not to!
Okay, We’ve determined that the F and the II are just reissues of their old kits. (Why there is a $10 difference between the two, I don’t know.) So, now the question is, having the II, is it worth getting the F also? There are sure other kits I’d like to spend my money on, that’s for sure! But if the F is truely a limited re-issue, it’s now or never!
