After being away from models for lots of years, won’t say how many couse it makes me feel old.A freind has reintroduced back into it,My passion is wwll aircraft and as I get into it .It has become appairent to me that there is a lot more that a person can do compared to how we used to do it.I am really enjoying it.But am wondering if there is some place that a guy could get some sort of pattern for painting camo patterns o aircraft I made my first attempt free hand and, well not the best.
Welcome nite halk!
Don’t feel bad, the average age here is 40 years young! (Trust me the number is accurate to the second decimal place)
First off what aircraft do you need the patterns for? Many & Manny (you will bump into Manny sooner of later ha ha…) Simple photocopy the kits instructions a reduce or enlarge to the scale of your aircraft. Copy shops are good with this if your printer / computer skills are not up to the task. Then cut out the patterns and trace on your aircraft.
I like using Blue Poster Putty or Tack. Great stuff and once you do there are all sorts of use for this great product other than painting.
Also realize many here have been building a long time, complete some simpler kits and then tackle some of the more complex ones. A good aircraft to start on is a WWII Pacific US Hellcat or one with a one color camouflage pattern.
Save the molted over German European splinter with a whitewash over that for later on.
[snWcm] Welcome to the asylum. Great technical tips and some silliness herein. Enjoy.
“pedo vellon a minno” (Speak ‘friend’ and enter.) Or is it, “Enter freely and of your own will.” Both fit here. Welcome.
[snWcm] to the forum.
