First off thanks for the very warm welcome to the forums.
I’ve always been interested in Yeager since I read his autobiography about 15 years ago (i was 15 then :O) ) Anyway he apperently flew 300 types so instead of just building random planes im going for the collection in 1/72 over the next 30 years or so…
I got some on a list so far.
Bt-13, P-39 Airacobra, P51-B (got the decals) p51-d (current build),P-59, P-80, Mig15, X-1 to X-5, XP85 F100, Mystere, B-47, F86E, F86H, F100, F102, F-4D, B-57, NF104, C-47, F20, F15
I did read he flew the SR-71 once but thats not 300 is it? Any additions/pictures/references would help my wife choose my birthday presents…
Cheers

Cadd,
If you do a google search for Chuck Yeager you will find a wealth of information.
Good luck and show us some pics as you complete some of his planes.
Richard
Here’s some sites which you may find interesting.
Machbuster - THE Chuck Yeager Resource Site - There’s alotta info and images here.
Chuck Yeager.com - This is Chuck’s official site. For the modeler this page is pretty useless, but if you’re a Yeager fan it ain’t too awful bad.
The Planes That Yeager Flew - These pages are a part of the Edwards site and although there’s only 54 different types documented, there are some really nice, large, good quality images here.
Fade to Black…
You can add the Fiesler Storch WWII German liason plane to that list too. I remember reading recently that Yeager flew the one that is now in the Smithsonian.
Thanks guys excellent info… love that edwards site :O)
