Can anyone give me any details of the part that runs along the front fork? From what I can see in some photos, it runs from the top yoke to the RHS brake calliper. It appears to be some sort of sensor rod and the photos I have show it as a red tube with a silver inner rod. Does anyone have details? Like where is it mounted at the top and the sizes of the various parts i.e. scale diameters etc
Any assistance would be most appreciated
Thanks
Andrew
Andrew,
I’ve had a bit of a look around (not a comprehensive look, I’ll admit) but really couldn’t find any info on the bracketry or mounting the sensor on the fork.
It’s actually an accelerometer - it measures fork compression, and when electronically linked to throttle position, braking forces, and track position data, can be analysed and is a powerful tool in assisting the suspension techs to adjust the suspension to suit the track and the rider. Sorry I didn’t help much - but good luck.
LeeTree thanks for the assistance i have a pic showing the lower mounting point and based on your info I can now make an “educated guess” to the othyer mounting point I will try and scale size from the pic too
Thanks for help
Andrew
All I can tell you about the upper mounting point is that it isn’t above the bracket which mounts the forks to the frame. So just attach it to the bottom of that bracket and you should be right. It’s not a very visible area on the finished model, so you should be able to fudge it pretty easily. Another thing I can say is that it’s only on the right hand fork. You probably knew that already, but I’ll add it any way.
