Captain Caveman - (wonderful moniker, by the way !) I’ve been using Photoshop for about 4-5 hours a day for the last year & a half. I’ve had a semester at school with it, and will have another this fall. Chances are very likely that I have experienced whatever it is that is preventing you from using it. What is it that you are trying to do ? I am using PS 6.0 right now . I also have 5.0 loaded, so if you are using either (they both do basically the same thing-only functions are in different places), I can probably explain how to go about doing it. I think this is the best tool for creating aircraft dioramas. It’s the only way to show a plane in its natural environment - the air ! It can also be used to show a model as damaged when you don’t want to damage the model itself. I will be more than happy to answer any questions that I can. I also have 3 semesters of photo, and can explain some way of trying to get what you want. Feel free to correspond here, or send me e-mail. I’ve never tried it before, but maybe I can send you a Photoshop document (picture) in layers. I’m here to help ! So many people have helped me on this site, I owe so much.

ive got Photoshop 7.0
all im trying to do is put a different background to my models, like you have (they look so cool)
but mine are Tanks not targets sorry aircraft [:)]
that photo was on the http://www.af.mil/
ive tryed to use photoshop a number of times to get a different background and have done it once before but ive forgotten how[:)]
chears for the offer

Captain - on page 2 of this forum, titled Photoshop 101, is an explanation of extracting & moving images from one to another. I also posted one on the diorama page. Check it out - it may help you. One thing I for got to mention on the post, however. Once you have successfully outlined the image, do EDIT - COPY ; EDIT - PASTE. Select the move tool and drag the extracted image from its canvas to the other one. ( Its easiest to have both your subject and target open on the screen at the same time. Hope this helps ! Your friend, Pix.

thanks i’ll try that, it rings a bell from before lol
ill have a look now chears

Hey, Caveman ! this is getting to be like a chat room, going back & forth with posts ! Glad to help you out if I can ! Pix.

Forgot to tell you, Cap’n. That’s a great pic ! Just goes to show ya - kids never pick up their toys - they leave that for the grown-ups ! ( I like how the guy is propping himself up on the shovel ! )

Lovely! Superb work.

Thank you, dj ! I like the way this one turned out. I guess I achieved the correct angles to achieve a sense of space. It almost looks like the Yak has weight. Thanks for the kind words ! Its going to be raining here for the next few days. I’ll have to go outside with my camera and take more background photos. This will give me the what I need to do a British aircraft !

LOL its not always raining in Britain

Yeah !I heard you guys are at the 100 degree F mark ! By the way, did the Photoshop do what you wanted ?

Hey, Captain Caveman ! I found something hidden in the pic you posted ! Seems its a foiled escape attempt ! THAT’S where he’s been hiding ! ! !

i saw that Foxbat photo in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper a couple days ago. Are you saying that’s a model? That’s not what the article said.

Pix, this one slipped by me!
Looks real good! The model just by itself is fantastic!
Keep it up!

Cave, that’s one nutty Foxbat!
So, is it real? Digital? I’m so confused…

Hulk its a real one found buried under the sand with SU 25s in the Iraqi desert
i dont know why they were buried, or what use they would be
the photos from http://www.af.mil/

im gonna edit the post wit the photo now “Its Not A Model”

[:D]

It’s hard to tell what they’ll find buried under sand dunes over there… here’s the message I got about the PP file of this:

The attached is a little surprise weapons inspectors found buried in the Iraqi desert over the weekend. These are Mig 25 Foxbats. Very advanced high tech Russian fighters on par with F-15s. Interesting that no major news media reported this story, except the “Wall Street Journal”.

Yes, very interesting indeed!

J-Hulk - Thanks ! Its a great little kit to build. Good cockpit & wheelwell detail. This kit took a wash really well. I thought the star on the spinner was great, I HAD to do that scheme. Thanks again, Pix.
