X15 space plane variants?

I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction for info on the X15. Specifically differences between the X15 and X15A2? Surprisingly I can’t find much decent info on line about the aircraft variants. (the NASA sight s seem to be down or discontinued). I am thinking about building a model of X15 #3, but the only kit I can see is in 1/144 scale. There are several other X15s in larger scales, but I need to find out about how the plane evolved (if at all, outside of the additional of fuel tanks and the like) . I’d appreciate any info or leads.

There is a NASA report on the whole program in PDF (and I think some ebook file formats) on one of the NASA sites. It is a final report on the whole X-15 program. Excellent read- lots of stuff on the operational problems of the flight testing. Do a google search on X-15.
