X Company show Tiger Tank

I just watched the X Company episode entitled “Butcher and Bolt,” Season 2 Episode 9. There is what appears to be a genuine Tiger Tank in the episode. It doesn’t appear to be CG, either. If it’s not the real thing, it’s a really good fabrication. Can anyone confirm if this was a genuine Tiger, or, if not, how someone managed to make such a great operating replica? I can’t find any chatter about it online. Thanks, Barrett

That may be the replica built for I think Band of Brothers based on a Late model T-34. I saw it at WWII Weekend in Reading several years ago and it is quite well done. It’s currently owned by a group in Florida called WWII Armor which is refurbishing it. They’re an interesting group with a very large collection of US and German armor all of which is operable and they bring to shows around the country.

Not familiar with the show but I Googled it, and assuming I found the correct vehicle pic, the roadwheels look more like a T34 than a Tiger.

I believe the only functional Tiger left is at Bovington in England, and has only been used on screen in Fury.

Now i can reply on this thread, i couldn’t before due to Barretts sig, but i reckon thats partly down to my end.

If you look at the road wheels, there is a prominant gap before the first and second. Also, notice the spare track, 1 row of guide horns. A tiger track has 2.

It looks exactly the same as that on a T-55.

Compare that to a T-34/85 as used as a Tiger in SPR, which has a larger gap between 2nd and 3rd.

That is a replica Tiger I, very well made but only the Tiger fans can spot the subtle differences.
