I am a new member and think this is a great forum. I have been looking for a WACO-CG-4A Glider kit. Preferably 1/48. Would like to make one for a neighbor who was all over Europe with crews fixing and putting them together. Cannot find a kit anyplace. Glen
The only injected kits of the WACO and the Horsha gliders I know of are 1/72nd scale made by Italiari, and reboxed by Testors. I think Revell reboxed the kits also at one time. You may find these kits at kit swap meets or model contests, or on e-bay. The kits have been out of production (OOP) for a long time. As for 1/48th scale, I think there was a vacuum formed kit of one of the gliders a long time ago, that is it is also OOP. Good luck.
The Italeri kit builds into a nice model with a sparse but well done interior.
Here’s the one I built last year for a friends father-in-law who had flown one into Normandy.

Thank you for your reply. I will start checking your suggestions.

Thanks for your reply. Is this the same 1/72 kit mentioned above? Did you find it on the market some time ago or more recently thru E-bay? Also, thanks for the picture.
Glen
I bought it new last year at my LHS. I’m not sure it’s still in production or not but it’s the 1/72 scale Italeri kit. It doens’t show on Squadron’s web site.
