WWII Deuce and a half and a Jeep with a trailer

I thought I’d clump these two models into one thread as they’re built pretty much OOB. There are things I wish I had and hadn’t done to both, but they are as they will be. Not gonna change them now! The back of the truck and the Jeep’s trailer are filled with drums, boxes and jerrycans, and whatever. The hoops for the cover of the truck are made from MIG welding wire. I made a jig for bending so they’d all come out the same which they pretty much did. Enjoy (please) Gary

Merc, couple of nice build’s you got there great job. What kit’s are these cause I’m really liking that duece.

Merc

Both are nice builds. Good job with the duce bows.

Rounds Complete!!

Both kits were Tamiya. Thanks for the comments. Gary

Very nicely done! Also a nice change to see a soft skin. Thanks for posting!

PS You are in Danbury, Im sure you know about the upcoming APMS in Sept right?

It was probebly me just being oblivious and not noticing them but when I loged on I thought “hay I haven’t seen meny posts by LO51 latly”

The work is looking GRREEAAT I realy like the look of the Deuce it’s Sswweeet!

Very nice i have been keeping my eye out for one of those tamiya trucks for some time now they do build up into a sweet looking vehicle, great job.

Jmart, nope, but you gotta remember I’m just getting back into this hobby after a hiatus of at least ten years. Now retired but busy around the house, but I can always find some time to work on models. I’m working on the Monogram 1/72 B-52 currently. Tell me about the show you mentioned. Gary

Great builds you did there. I especially like how you replaced the bows.

I have built one of the Tamiya “deuce and a half” trucks and thought it was one of the best kits I ever built quality wise. I enjoyed it so much that I bought another duece and the Tamiya duece accessory set to build one with the gun ring on it.

Again, great job. I look forward to seeing your B-52. Welcome back to modelling.

Great builds. I also keep some MIG wire around as it’s relatively easy to work with. Every time I change the roll I’ve got several feet left over, enough for years. Just need to use some smaller wire now and then…

Nice

Very Very Nice

what scale are these???

Chris

Spong, my armor models are all 1/35th scale with the exception of the Sherman M4A1 with the umbrella that I posted a few weeks ago. That one was about 1/32 scale. Gary
