WWII ARMOR

Have two questions. First one is how crew members were there for the Jagdtiger and what were their postions?
My second question is did the M26 Pershing record any actual combat kills of German Panzers and what type were they?
Thanks for the help everyone. [:)]

Jagdtiger crew: Pretty sure it was 6:

Driver
Radio Operator/Machine gunner
Commander
Gunner
and 2 loaders

once apon a time I was in the 28th, 107th FA to be exact.
I’m active duty now 1st ID 7th FA.

Sorry but I’m no help on the tiger, but most of these other guys are a great help
with some of these beasts!

The History Channel always shows that scene with the T26E3 Pershing killing a Panther in Colone, France. It’s part of the same scene when the Sherman gets hit by the same Panther and the commander stumbles out with his leg gone and he rolls off the back deck.

I have seen the same show, it’s a good program.

What was the name of that show on the history channel?

Modern Marvels The Tank; and in another series about the vehicles that won WW2, The M4 Sherman (others were on the DUKW, Spitfire, some others). They reuse that footage often.

Thanks for all of the help everyone.

Thanks Rob, I could not remember the name.

I think this link will give you some still shots based on the programme you have been talking about:

Pershing destroys Panther in Cologne

Pershings KILLED Tigers (and anything else) head to head. Check out Hunnicutt’s Pershing book. There’s a good history in there.

Ron.

Thanks for the name of the show Rob. Those were some dramatic photos, I can only imagine that the live action was pretty intense. Anyone got any armor specs on the Pershing. I would guess that it was less than the Tiger II, but more than the Tiger I.
